Dry, 13.5% vol. alcohol
Description
Light yellow in color. Delicate white fruit notes with a mineral touch. Nice complexity, pleasantly integrated oak, creamy texture, and a hint of floral honey on the finish. Balanced and a great companion to food. Matured – creamy – full-bodied.
The Chardonnay grows on the Ungerberg, one of the warmest vineyard sites in the country. Its light, sandy loam soil gives our grapes high ripeness, a beautiful structure, and rich fruit every year. Since the 2017 vintage, the Ungerberg Chardonnay has been spontaneously fermented on the skins for three weeks, then matured in used 500-liter barrels for three years. This results in a matured, creamy, full-bodied, and high-quality single-vineyard wine.
